On this page
The Emojisense plugin for WordPress. Type a colon and a word in any text block of the block editor and pick from emoji ranked by meaning. The classic editor gets an emoji button. Optionally, visitors can react to posts with emoji and search emoji in the comment form.

Search runs in the browser with packs served from the plugin folder. Out of the box, the plugin sends nothing to the Emojisense API.

Connect the API
In Settings → Emojisense, turn on Connect to the Emojisense API and paste a publishable key (pk_live_…). Add the site origin that the settings page shows (for example https://example.com) to the key’s allowed origins in the dashboard. Test the saved settings checks the key and the origin. The connection adds:
- Search by meaning: unsure searches also ask
/v1/search. - Reaction suggestions: when a post is published, the server sends its title and first 256 characters to
/v1/suggest-reactions(in the background, with WP-Cron). - Hosted emoji sets: posts, comments and reactions show Twemoji, Noto or Fluent images from
/v1/sets/. They need a key on the Solo plan or higher; the plugin adds the key and sends the page origin with each image.
The plugin refuses secret keys. Its privacy guide text (Settings → Privacy) describes each data flow.
